| 1990 | Third extension: operations at Power Circuit 5 commence Vereinigte Elektrizit„tswerke Westfalen AG (VEW) joins the company as a shareholder |
| 1991 | Direct leaching taken into use for the leaching of concentrates (Sherritt-Gordon procedure) |
| 1993 | Conversion of the leaching department implementing a simplified leaching procedure (May - June) (decommissioning of the hematite procedure) VEW leaves the group of shareholders |
| 1994 | MIM Holdings Ltd. leaves the group of shareholders Direct leaching deactivated (April) Power Circuits 1 to 4 deactivated (May & June) Reduction of the production output to 90,000 tonnes per year (from July) |
